Two new codes of practice will be coming into effect in the Australian Capital Territory in November:

1. Managing the risks of airborne crystalline silica (silica dust) in the workplace commences on 15 November 2023. This code of practice supports the WHS regulations introduced in 2022, and aims to provide better protection to workers who modify engineered stone and other materials containing silica.
2. Managing psychosocial hazards at work commences on 27 November 2023. This code of practice supports the new regulations for psychosocial hazards introduced in the WHS Amendment Regulation 2023, and aims to provide more information to duty-holders about psychosocial hazards.
