WHS or OHS?

Q: We currently have policies in place that are entitled Occupational Health and Safety. It was brought to my attention that all the HR policies that reference OH&S need to be changed to WH&S in line with new legislative changes. Can you please confirm if this is accurate and, if so, why is it necessary?

A: If you are located in a WHS jurisdiction and you have the opportunity to amend your policies then, yes, you may wish to update them to read WHS rather than OHS. But, in reality, it is the content of your policy that matters. The heading is of little consequence and it is not a legislative requirement that you change it.
