Who is responsible for reporting notifiable incidents?

Q: If an employee of a contractor or a contractor injures themselves and it is a notifiable incident, who is responsible for notifying the authorities?

A: The obligation to ensure that the injury is reported is placed not only on the injured worker’s employer (i.e. the contractors), but also on the business engaging the contractor.

In practical terms, however, the legislation allows you to come to an agreement with the contractor as to who will notify the incident on behalf of others.
