Are EpiPens mandatory in first aid kits?

Q: Is there any legal requirement to provide an EpiPen in a first aid kit in the workplace?

A: It is our understanding that EpiPens are prescribed medication and therefore it may not be possible to include them in first aid kits as they need to be specific to an individual.

If an employee requests that the business keep their EpiPens in the first aid kit, and you agree to that request, you may need to consider obligations to train your first-aiders in the administration of the EpiPens. Further information is set out in the Code of Practice: First aid in the workplace.
