Well here we are – welcoming the beginning of a new year and with it, a new opportunity to learn as much as we can about the matters surrounding health and safety for your business.
Here at the OH&S Bulletin, we want to make it as easy as possible for you to stay on top of the many changes being made in Australian occupational health and safety law at the moment.
How will the OH&S Bulletin help you this year?
If you refer to the information we send through the OH&S Bulletin throughout the year, it will assist in streamlining your processes and making sure that you comply with all your health and safety obligations – whether those are found in the new WHS Act, or in existing OHS legislation in your jurisdiction.
Status of the WHS Act in your State
On 1 January 2012, the WHS Act commenced operation in New South Wales, Queensland and the Northern Territory.
The ACT will soon follow.
Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia are yet to commit to a commencement date.

So as we head into a new year, we wish you the best of luck and hope to be here as both guidance and support when things start getting complicated – inevitable as it seems with the staggered implementation of the harmonisation of OHS legislation across Australia.
Best of luck for 2012…
