The $2 million Primary Producer Safety Rebate Scheme became available from 1 October 2021.

Under the scheme, rebates of up to $5,000 are available for eligible items that remove or reduce the risk to safety caused by the following hazards in the agriculture sector:

• being hit by moving objects;
• body stressing (manual handling/muscular stress);
• falls, trips and slips;
• hitting objects with a part of the body; and
• vehicle incidents.

The Tasmanian Government is encouraging small-to-medium or sole trader Tasmanian businesses within the agriculture sector that have farming as their main source of income to take part.
